Thousands of middle class and poor families are slipping through the cracks! Over the last few decades the cost of living has risen drastically, while wages have risen only slightly or in some cases went down and the value of the dollar has drastically dropped leaving a new class of people who work hard for a living and yet still cant make ends meet. This new class of people make too much to receive government assistance and too little to provide for their families. Take for example Bob (fictional name real story) : He worked hard making a decent living for years. Then he became disabled. He thought he had a good enough insurance plan to cover such an emergency. But now he is slipping further and further in debt and can't even cover the basic necessities for his wife and kids. By the time he pays rent and utilities his disability check is gone. Leaving no money for food and gasoline. They live in an area that has been hit hard by layoffs and company closings. This has made it hard for his wife to find a job. Even with his insurance co-pays he still spends hundreds of dollars on medicines and doctor visits. He has had to borrow money and max out his credit cards. Now he is running out of options. If things don't change soon he will lose everything. |
